This trip was planned in Nov 2013, when Aisha suggested to go for an adventure trip. We considered a few places that we can go for activities from websites and finally decided to go 3 Days 2 Nights Bali trip.
Then, we booked the air tickets and accomodations.
We were lucky to get a low air fare during tigerair promotion.
We booked Casa Nuri Villa by Nakula Management at Jimbaran area from Agoda, with 2 bedrooms and a private pool that can sleep 5 of us.
Next, we booked the water activities packages for our Day 2 and ATV & Water rafting package for our Day 3.
Day 1:
Our flight was at 12.05pm. We met at T2 to check in for our boarding pass. We were all very excited!
We entered the transit area excitedly. Then, the PA system announced that the flight will be delayed. We have to wait patiently.
We took selfies while waiting for boarding.
Finally, we boarded the plane & more selfies!
When we reached Ngurah Rai Airport at 2.40pm (no time difference between Bali & Singapore), we were shocked to see long queue crowd at the immigration. We queued for about 1.5hr at the custom. We were very tired. We have arranged for the driver to wait for us at the arrival hall at 2.30pm. Due to flight delay in Singapore airport and long queue at the immigration, we finally cleared immigration by 4pm. Our plan were in total delayed!
Luckily our driver, Mr Ketut were very nice. We greeted one anothera and he showed us to his car. We requested Mr Ketut to bring us to the money changer, then to check in our villa.
When we reached our villa, the villa guidance, Indah was waiting for us in the villa. After introducing us around the villa, we quickly unload our backpack and quickly hopped into the car and get Mr Ketut to drive us to Sardine restaurant at Sirminyak, as it was already 5.30pm and it takes around 20 mins drive to Sirminyak from Jimbaran.
When the car reached Sirminyak, our driver couldn't find the restaurant. He drove round and round Sirminyak but couldn't find the restaurant. He even stopped at the road side and asked around for the direction, but they did not know the direction, finally we found the contact no. of the restaurant, Mr Ketut called and got the direction to the restaurant.
The outside of the restaunrant was very huge, but the signboard was too tiny to get noticed, especially at night.
The restaurant was famous for the natural Padi field behind the restaurant. We planned to take pictures at the padi field, but by the time, the sky was dark. In the end, the whole padi field was too dark to be seen. It is an open space restaurant with fine dining decorated. We were very hungry and quickly screened through the menu.
The restaurant serves fish dishes as memtioned in the name of the restaurant. After we were seated, I scanned through the whole restaurant, we realsied that we were the only Asian in the restaurant. Even the managers are caucassians dressed smartly to serve the customers. The price is not very cheap but it is still reasonable for a fine dining as to compared if this type of restaunrant is to be in Singapore. We took quite some time to decide what to order as we did not know much of the fishes. We decided to order 5 main course to share.
WWe were told that our dinner will took about 15 minutes to be served as we only ordered main course. We were surprised that we were given complimentary sashimi appetiser each.
As I did not have any craving for fish, I ordered Seared Peking Duck Breast and Leg Confit.
The rest of the girls ordered fish dishes.
Grilled whole fish "Jimbaran Style'
After dinner, we walked around the restaurant area to take photos.
We even take selfies in the washroom.
Making faces at the mirror
We walked out to the padi field to take mpre photos.
After dinner, Mr Ketut drove us to Krisna to shop for souvenirs. We shopped till the mall closed. Lastly, Mr Ketut drove us to Minimart to buy some packet noodles and beverages for our breakfast.
After shower, we sat by the pool to drink and enjoy the serenity.
Cheers to Gagas!
Day 2:
We woke up early to get ready for our water activities. We booked the water sports package online with Banana Boat, Jet Ski, Flying Fish, Snokling, Parasailing and Glass Bottle Boat to Turtle Island for IDR540,000 per pax with hotel transfer.
We applied thick sun block cream and waited for the driver to fetch us to Tanjung Benoa Beach. As soon as we reahed the beach, the person in charged verifired our bookings. We were told that because of the unfavourable wind direction, we were not able to take parasailing. We swaped the parasailing to Donut with additional fee of IDR100,000.
The whole activities were very safe and guided by professional instructors. They will asked whether we wanted to drop into the water before each activities, we insisted 'No...!" but only Aisha replied "Yes!" She is the most adventurous among us.
Flying Fish
Taking Glass water boat to Turtle Island. Admission IDR10,000 per pax
We got to take pictures with different animals in the Island.
Gagas looking at the proud eagle
Experiencing 15 mins fish spa
We took the boat back and had our lunch before we headed back to our villa.
The girls still wanted to play in the pool, while I went for shower and laze on the sofa watching TV and enjoying the Magnum ice-cream we bought last night.
We made a reservation at Bawang Restaurant for sunset dinner. The restaurant offers free transportaion if spending minimum IDR 500,000. There wasn't much customer at the restaurant and the beach. A private wedding ceremony at the beach in front of Bawang Merah caught our eyes. We felt so romantic and we felt so honoured to catch the bride bouquet. I was lucky to catch the bouquet.
We just had so much fun taking photos at the beach and almost forgot about our dinner.
The other must eat food is grilled corn. This is the only grilled corn seller on the beach. He will push his grilled corn cart along Jimbaran beach. I'm a corn lover and I ran up to the man and bought 2 grilld corn for IDR30,000 each. The guy grilled your corn on the spot. The corn were very huge and juicy. What makes the corn so tastey was the special BBQ saurce brushed on the corn.
We ordered 3 dinner set. Each set comes with appetizers. We couldn't finish them. We were so full.
After dinner, the restaurant driver drove us back to our villa. As usual, we relax in the villa and drink every night before sleep. The alchol drinks are much more cheaper in Bali.
We have to check out the villa and hand over the keys to the housekeeper. We took our last picture at the wooden swing before we left.
Day 3:
The driver, Tom, from Gorgeous Bali Tour was already at the villa waiting for us. The driver was very friendly and funny.
The journey to the ATV destination was very long, about 1.5hr drive to Ubud.
When we reached at the ATV reception, we had a weocome drink and gave us a briefing on how to operate the ATV. We practice riding the ATV for a round of muddy route before we start our ATV trail. The whole trail took 2 hrs with different route condition. Muddy pile, concrete road, steep up and down slope around the village. We can see the villagers living in their daily life. Kids waved at us along the way. This was the greatest ATV experience of all. We took a rest and had our lunch (included) before we go for water rafting.
Next, Driver Tom drove to our next destination. The staff dressed us up with helmet and life jackets and we took another car to the entrance of the trail. We have to walked into a padi field, forest and down the rock stairs. Due to previous day's activities, our body muscle already tensed, we had difficulties walking down on uneven stairs to the river. The 2 instructors gave us a short briefing on paddling. We started our river rafting. The whole rafting experience was very exciting. We went through numorous river rush conditions. The whole journey took 2 hours too. We were all wet and we have to walked up the stairs back to the road and they drove us to our next lunch eatery at the padi field. Tom was already there waiting for us. We got changed in the shabby toilet and went to have our 2nd lunch.
After our 2nd lunch, Tom drove us to Airport. It's another long drive back. We requested for a last minute shopping. He drove us to Hawaii for last minute shopping before driving us to airport.
Our flight was 9.00pm. The immigration area was not crowded but the transit area was crowded with people. We have to take a bus to board the flight. We were very tired and we slept through the whole journey. We reached Singapore Changi Aiport almost midnight.
